A great ballad that was given to me by Alan Copeland. Written by Matt Dennis (Angel Eyes, Everything Happens to me, to name just a few) with lyrics by Alan Copeland. The plan was to submit this to Frank Sinatra but he retired a couple of weeks after this was given to me. I have had this gem ever since. The recording was made ten years ago with my students from Roosevelt University. Andrew Toombs piano, Julian Smith bass and John Smillie drums. These three wonderful musicians have gone on to have very successful careers in this crazy business. I am so proud of them.

Michael "Mike" Smith is an American jazz saxophonist. Smith graduated in 1980 from the University of North Texas and played in the famed One O'Clock Lab Band. He moved to Chicago. He toured with the Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich bands. While he was with Rich, he toured with Frank Sinatra.
